This role is hybrid based at our Northbrook, IL officeThe Senior Manager IT, is accountable for translating business needs and strategies into innovative technology solutions.
Leads strategic planning sessions conducted with key business stakeholders to design plans and address challenges.
This role will have an in-depth knowledge of the Commercial Excellence function (Marketing & Sales Operations) and associated markets as well as technology solutions, standards, and methods.

Responsibilities:
Identify, support, and analyze the key function drivers, business and technology strategy, current technology environment and support to identify solutions to improve, develop, and align technology to the Commercial Excellence function's needs.
Dotted line reports to functional leadership and acts as a demand driver on their behalf, owning new initiatives intake process and financial stewardship for technology initiatives.
Supports collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence to ensure use of common standards, enterprise solutions, tools, and methods.
Evaluates new technology solutions and vendors and determines how they could be used or applied in the delivery of technology services and delivery of solutions.
Consults on multiple projects/programs/domains that have impacts and require knowledge across multiple disciplines such as business architecture, technology & data solutions, and strategy.
Assists the Sr.
Director IT, Senior Business Advisor, other IT leaders and key commercial excellence stakeholders in providing analysis and point of view on investment decisions and long-range technology-enabled plans and strategies, with an understanding?of the?innovation & transformation team?as well as the?broader UL Solutions operating model?to understand how overall goals and objectives are achieved.
Support the development of Commercial Excellence function - focused requirements for the technical environment, evaluates alternative technology solutions, and recommends appropriate solutions that fit current enterprise architecture.
Leads cross-functional teams in workshops to identify requirements, pain points and to propose solutions to deliver value.
What makes you a great fit:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related disciplines plus generally 10 years experience in the technology field as advisory, business architect, program manager or related functional area experience.
Able to identify, articulate, and shape business requirements, experience with technology transformations to improve overall performance.
Knowledge and understanding of business architecture, Commercial Excellence technology solutions, information management, solution design, system and application operations is preferred.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies environments required.
Broad experience in a wide variety of sub-functions within IT (e.
g.
, service delivery management, project management, business architecture, business analytics, business process management).
