A day in the lifeAs the Director of Accounting you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Home Office accounting team and accounting staff at assigned properties.
You will oversee the preparation of financial statements and operational analysis, including financial statements and supporting schedules, for the guidance of management and ownership.
In addition, you will be responsible for USGAAP, credit card merchant relationships, insurance administration, payroll liaison, establishment and adherence to internal controls, quality review, cash flow and review of forecasts and budgets.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compares performance with property specific operating plans and standards.
Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
Keeps senior Executive, Financial and Operational management informed of region's performance and provides advice on all financial matters related to assigned areas (such as assigned properties, region, etc.
).
Partner with Senior Operational Leadership to analyze financial statements and provide recommendations on opportunities to improve results.
Monitors working capital accounts and balances and advises management regarding variances to budget/forecasts.
Develops and presents to Executive, Financial and Operational management matters requiring action.
The timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting is a key element of this position's responsibility.
Lead for insurance program, including exposure verification for each property.
Onboarding and removal of properties, as required.
Review of new business contracts specifically related to financial and insurance matters.
Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
Understands the operations and how they impact the accounting at assigned sites.
Supervisory Responsibilities Assures that the duties, responsibilities, and authority of each task, project and/or assignment are clearly defined, effective, and communicated.
Assures that management training and development needs are identified and programs initiated.
Assures that qualified personnel are selected and that orientation and on-the-job training programs are conducted and effective.
Monitors performance of direct reports.
Assures that a positive employee relations position is maintained.
Ensures that the company's management principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
Provides leadership and development to all team members, creating and promoting a supportive work environment.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have 5
years of experience in hospitality/operational accounting.
We are looking for someonereliable and extremely trustworthy with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs andable to learn other accounting software systems.
Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
Position requires periodic travel.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
