W2 contract engagement JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a FinOps Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing cloud spend and providing cost-saving recommendations to the entire organization. You will collaborate with engineering teams, analyze cloud usage, and develop financial models to identify impactful savings opportunities. Additionally, you will work on cost visibility, forecasting, business insights, and reservation management.Required Skills:
Experience using large datasets such as financial, usage, tag metadata to tell a story and drive action. Experience in analyzing and optimizing cloud spend at a large scale. Familiar with major cloud providers' product offerings and how engineers use them, with experience in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure. Skilled in communication and partnering with clients. Fluent in the language of both Engineering and Finance. Organized and possess good interpersonal skills. Able to effectively convey cloud technologies and solutions to customer personnel. Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, Turbonomics, or Cloudability. Experience in building and operating financial control and analysis systems. Experience working with stakeholders and development teams. Education:
BA/BS or equivalent (or equivalent) Required Technical Skills:
Minimum of eight years of experience Minimum of five years of experience with Cloud Systems (AWS - preferred, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) Minimum of three years of Cloud Financial/Economics experience Minimum of five years of experience working with senior business and product owners to develop business cases, perform value and TCO analysis, and identify and implement cost optimization techniques for cloud infrastructure and applications Experience in developing and presenting reports that quantify the cost benefits of different design options for running applications in cloud What Will Put You Ahead FinOps Foundation Certification Cloud Provider Certifications Prior experience in a FinOps specific role The S3 DifferenceThe global mission of S3 is to build trusting relationships and deliver solutions that positively impact our customers, our consultants, and our communities.
