Position Description
We are currently seeking a Sr. Human Resources Representative to be responsible for developing strong working relationships and establish appropriate communication channels while providing proactive human resources management support in relation to overall operational objectives. This position will be responsible for managing various HR projects, in addition to assisting with the direct HR tasks and employee relations issues for his/her business unit, escalating more complex issues to HR Manager and/or Director. May be responsible for an assigned territory or Business Unit, working directly with the business unit as a strategic partner providing strong leadership to the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
o Under direction, provides day-to-day support and coaching with Employee Relation issues, and performance management formulating, recommending, and implementing targeted solutions to meet needs, achieve results and resolve issues. Initiates and follows through on investigations making recommendations for resolution of issues. Participates in the review of operational business unit strategy and objectives to determine the implication on human resources objective and advises management of risks associated with current business practices and recommends improvements by providing expertise to management in local, state and federal employment laws.
o Facilitates and assists in the development of miscellaneous HR training projects as assigned, such as New Hire Orientation, Workplace Harassment, Code of Business Conduct Standards, New Manager training, and Change Management, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of such. Engages the proper staff's assistance in meeting deadlines as appropriate.
o Manages employee flow of questions regarding employment issues, benefit problems, and policies and procedures, resolving problems as they occur. Escalates complex problems to HR Manager and/or Director, as needed.
o Works with various HR functions to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of those areas to drive consistency, e.g. staffing, compensation, benefits, training, HRIS.
o Provides general HR administrative support, as requested, including, but not limited to, excel spreadsheet project work, data entry, and mail merges.
o Maintains and updates HR invoices ensuring timely processing for payment and tracks for historical budgeting purposes.
o Performs other related duties as required or requested, including but not limited to tracking and reporting turnover statistics for assigned territory, headcount summaries, conducting exit interviews, etc.
Position Requirements
Education & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree is preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating general knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures.
o Five to seven years of progressive Human Resource experience, demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
o Demonstrates the ability to handle the more complex employee relation's issues only escalating to manager when necessary; volume requires the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
o Demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions under supervision.
o Union experience is a plus.
o Demonstrates excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
o Demonstrates familiarity with Human Resource Systems.
o Written and verbal fluency in Spanish highly preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
